It is an application or system that enables the subscription or registration to various contents from one or more pages at the same time. These can be desktop applications, installed and running on your operating system or web systems that offer similar functions.
It accesses each link to which you have subscribed/registered to show the information published, usually with a link that is used to display the information in extended form.
Here are some links for different operating systems or for web page access.
If you are visiting 6 or 7 web pages from different areas that require the use of the Internet, you might want to know more about their latest news and information. You have to open your browser and with the direct link or bookmarks/favourites and then you can visit them one by one. If each page offers the option to register/subscribe to the contents, you simply have to use the subscription links and your feed reader or aggregator to read more about the new information with just a few clicks. Therefore, you would not have to go one by one and you can read all information within the same application/window.
The subscription format is Atom 1.0, an XML-based document that lists information known as feeds
. It is composed of a number of entries or items that can include a set of metadata. For example, each page has its own title. The most common use of this format is the direct subscription/registration to web contents, such as weblogs or news pages. RFC 4287
