Guide for companies: how to adhere to the regulations on data protection

INTECO’s Information Security Observatory publishes this guide for companies, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), to become familiar with the protection of data: why it is necessary to protect citizens’ data, what legal requirements the company is bound to observe and what benefits to business result from their adoption.
It also provides basic guidelines for the implementation of these regulations, setting up the overall framework defined in the LOPD and RDLOPD and detailing those specific provisions and obligations affecting the companies.
This guide represents a step forward within INTECO’s commitment to data protection and information security in the sphere of small and medium enterprises, of which an important referent is constituted by the "Study on the degree of adaptation of Spanish SMEs to the Spanish Law on the Protection of Personal Data (LOPD) and to the new Regulation of Development (RDLOPD)".
