This report presents the 2010 results and provides an evolutionary analysis that enables establishing a comparison with the security levels, risk incidence and e-trust of previous years.
In the fourth quarter of 2010, the majority of users (92.9%) said they use antivirus programmes, followed by updating the operating system and programmes (80.5%) and passwords (79.9%). The trend seen in the use of security measures between 2006 and 2010 is positive, as described in the report.
85.3% of Spanish Internet users used social networking sites in the fourth quarter of 2010. These users are conscious about their privacy and 67% say that their profile can only be viewed by friends and contacts, while 16.3% are even more careful and only allow access to some of their friends and contacts.
