INTECO’s Information Security Observatory publishes the results of the 2007 report on the "Study on information security and e-confidence in Spanish households", which corresponds to the complete 2007 analysis, showing the quarterly evolution of users’ perception and the entire monthly evolution of the analysis of real security incidents.
In the 2007 report the habits affecting Internet security are analysed: security equipment in households, behaviours and uses, actual security situation, etc. It also compares two sources of information: the users’ perception and opinions and the actual state of security and incidents in computers. With this 4th wave, the annual series on the security situation, confidence and level of security incidents in Spanish households using the Internet is completed, and it allows providing gathered data and their evolution throughout the year.
During the year 2007 more than 33,000 computers in Spanish households have been audited online, and analysed in depth, in search for malicious code residing in the computer systems with which the family members access the Internet; likewise, over 3,000 online personal surveys have been carried out quarterly.
In addition, this report presents the trends of the market and products of the information security industry for the next years, and the malware trends and dissemination of the sources of threats across Spain.
