INTECO’s Information Security Observatory releases the results of the 2008 report on the Study on information security and e-confidence in Spanish households, showing the evolution of the different waves and the users’ perception. Likewise, it presents the monthly evolution of the actual security incidents.
In the 2008 report the habits affecting Internet security are analysed: security equipment in households, behaviours and uses, actual security situation, etc. It also compares two sources of information: the users’ perception and opinions and the actual state of security and incidents in computers.
Throughout the year 2008 over 6,000 surveys, distributed in two waves, have been carried out, and more than 45,000 analyses have been performed in computers of Spanish households with which the family members access the Internet, with a software that examines security incidents through online analysis, detecting every malicious code residing on the computers by using 35 different antivirus engines, and also gathering operating system data and other features.
