The Information Security Observatory is a national and international point of reference for citizens, companies and Spanish administrations for the description, analysis, guidance and dissemination of the security culture and the confidence in the Information Society.
Therefore, the Observatory has an Activity and Study Plan which has been created by INTECO with the aim to generate specialized and useful knowledge about security matters, as well as to draft recommendations and proposals that can be used to define trends for future decision-making processes by public authorities.
This plan of activities includes research, analysis, study, guidance and promotion tasks which will address the following strategies:
- Carrying out and drafting their own IT and Communication security research and reports, focusing on Internet Security.
- Monitoring the main indicators and public policies related to national and international information security and confidence.
- Creation of a data base that will enable the analysis and assessment of the security and confidence with a temporary perspective.
- Promotion of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) security research projects.
- Dissemination of research and reports published by other national and international entities and bodies, as well as informing about current national and European security and confidence issues of the Information Society.
- Consultancy services addressed to public administrations regarding information security and confidence issues, as well as providing support for the drafting, monitoring and assessment of public policies in this area.
