Administrator accounts are not intended to be used on a day-to-day basis, posing a risk to security. The more privileges a user has on the system, the more risk involved, since the most delicate parts of the system configuration will be more exposed to security incidents.
In this article the Observatory tries to explain how to proceed in order to configure different privileges in a computer user account. If the profile has restricted permissions on the operating system, administration tasks cannot be carried out and, therefore, the damaging effects of a malware infection will be far less serious. The article also points out the differences and consequences of using one or other type of account.
