If a public network is not properly secured, the information travelling across it may be exposed to third parties. Security in wireless communications can be protected by taking three basic measures: 1. To effectively encrypt communications. 2. To restrict the access to the network, establishing effective access controls. 3. To protect the network with secure and robust passwords.
This technology is presented to the reader with an initial terminology section in order for them to be able to distinguish each of the wireless networking-related concepts. The article also suggests some security recommendations and concludes by describing the most recent, widely known attacks against wireless networks.
